this song is about, yes people who have to find a way to make it, but it's also about how there is always someone there to help. When we don't get that love an attention from our family there is always someone there ready and willing to help! I believe that it is saying that sometime's God is the only way out of our situations.. He's the helping hand that we need to make it through!!

i don't think the song is specific to Evan's situation - its meant to fit the pain and suffering of any orphan. anyone who has been adopted or is an orphan has to go through these questions - where is my dad/mom, and why aren't they here? this song just offers one explanation.
