In the book Phantom of Manhattan, which is the basis for Phantom: Love Never Dies (the forthcoming sequel) it is revealed that the Phantom did have a son with Christine. He is passed off as Raoul's son (the Phantom knows this). I won't spoil it, but let's just say the Phantom does end up rather happy, and the same can't be said for Raoul.
@ericfuchs123 I dunno. After watching this movie and the play on Broadway. The Phantom is just an obsessive man who desperately wants to be loved and accepted. However, while watching the play and right after Christine is kidnapped she catches a glimpse of the Phantom's real face. I don't remember if it happens in the movie. She's playful and COMPLETELY ready to be romanced by the Phantom, but after she sees it, she's horrified and suddenly very scared. She became scared of him. She's shallow.
She might finally end up with the dude from Watchmen, but you know that years later, in the cold unsatisfying nights, she will think back to the Phantom and know: she made a HUGE mistake
I think that's the most beautiful verse from all songs.I heard a lot of verses, poems, and I have read many lyrics, and nothing can beat that one,it's just perfect, with so much power and passion in just few words, there is no verse that can beat it

So when did that happen I wonder?
