El presentador Murray Sidman es toda una institución en el campo de la investigación conductual de laboratorio. Es el autor de la contingencia contextual, que amplía y mejora la tradicional concepción de la triple contingencia skinneriana.

Pavlovian contingency as advanced by Robert Rescorla.
the film is a bit outdated. Pavlovian conditioning is recognized today as the learning of S-S (CS-US) learning - not S-R. It also under-represents the importance of Pavlovian conditioning which is always going on. Every instance of operant conditioning is dictated by Pavlovian stimulus control
In my opinion there is an error in the film. They clearly show what appears to be sign tracking (aka autoshaping) when the pigeon is pecking the keylight and receiving food. Typically in this design, the food delivery is not dependent on the pecking behavior of the bird. Despite this lack of contingency, the pigeon still pecks at the keylight. Sign tracking has since been shown to be a Pavlovian, not an instrumental contingency. This inaccuracy may be the result of the film's age.
