Jon Bon Jovi & Richie Sambora - Imagine (Acoustic)

Assuming you believe Jon actually told Richie he can find a new job if he doesn't knock his tabloid stuff off (who can believe the newspaper, etc??) Jon is not going to mess with what works. Richie is an integral part of the band, the four guys. Even Hugh McDonald isn't official as a band member for publicity purposes etc. The four guys work, and if one of them was different it would not be Bon Jovi. Jon knows that, and I don't believe he would ditch Richie as a friend or colleague.

@milzy1345 he says something about what his mother said, that you should know your idols idols or something.
He also says it's a tribute to all the songwriter "both with us and not with us and some looking down on us"

haha, Jon can say what he wants, but if he fired Richie, there'd be no Bon Jovi. Full stop. They wouldn't find a guitarist anywhere near as good, and if they did, i don't think many people would embrace it. yeah Jon runs the band, he calls the shots, but in no way is he THE band, i highly doubt that Bon Jovi without Richie would be called Bon Jovi by the fans

Sorry, I am a huge Bon Jovi fan, however, as far as guitarists go Richie is FAR from being one of the best. I wouldn't even put him in the top 10 and replacing him would be a cinch.

yeah, but i mean as good for the band, sorry, shoulda been clearer. like with his exact style. cos his style compliments the band's style. and what they did with john such, if they did that with richie, i dunno if it'd go as smoothly

Think what you want. I know what the deal is. Jon even told Richie if he doesn't knock his tabloid stuff off, he can find a new job. Jon employs them. Hugh for a while, before he was hired to tour as well, was their studio bassist.

ok...i will! read his biography.....it shows all! and wat tabloid stuff??? richie had a drinking problem back in the late 80's early 90's! that was it!

He was in rehab again just last year or the year before.
