Yeah, I would listen if there was better music in general. What Rap has done is torn the soul out of Rock.

Too bad they had to drop a step down to C. That had to be Neil's doing, since Paul still sings all his songs in their original key. Which is just another reason why Paul is THE MAN.

Great song though, I think I'll go listen to the original.

Yeah and I'm sure there is plenty of good stuff I am missing but I don't want to wade through the OK or bad stuff. Just one tiny reason why I don't listen: Nora Jones: first song was nice and every song since is insipid and a bad take off of her first song. Oh but the women love her. So creative - huh? Man am I opinionated.

I spend my life wading through the bad stuff, forcing myself to listen through only entire albums at a time, and over and over again just to make sure it isn't an acquired taste. There is so much I would never have discovered if I didn't do this. Just searching for a heart of gold I guess

I don't wade through entire albums cause if the first 3 songs aren't good .. forget it. Or I read a review and learn that a great tune is the last one. If I miss something great it's just too bad for me. I also talk to a friend who has the exact music tastes I do so he's my guide too.

My problem is I often have to hear a song 10 times before I like it, and it always ends up worth it.

That's interesting & funny - 10 times. My thing is I can just get a feel most of the time if I will love a song on the first listen and so the second listen is when a song usually becomes great to me. Once in a while I can love a song first listen. When I listened to Neil Young's "I've been waiting for you" the first time over 30 years ago; I knew it would be my favorite song of all time. That's the most intuitive I've been and I was correct as it is my favorite - only the album version.

Ah, I did the same with Bob Dylan's 'It's Alright Ma (I'm only bleeding)'

But that was only 2 years ago heheh. I know it will remain my fav of all time though.

I am not a blues man but Stevie Ray is great particularly when he does Hendrix songs and Cold Shot. My favorite Dylan is "Positively 4th street" and "Stuck inSide of Memphis.." (Jacob's 6th ave heartache is fine too). "Girl from the North Country" with Johny Cash is a great song.
