... I've just read so far back in the comments...
where I live it's almost impossible to find anything from... well any other place or culture and anyway you have to find out about something somehow...
I've always liked japan ever since I learned about its existence (around 4 years old apparently) but only started liking anime and manga recently... I found out about nightmare through death note but that really doesn't mean anything. I looked them up because I liked their music. end of story.

Nightmare is awesome! Sadly, I did find out about Nightmare through Death Note (My favorite anime by the way) but I've always enjoyed J-Rock, and i'm not totally ignorant (Rammstein for example).
