TheJontravis86, u are comparing matrix with a movie from 10 years ago. u are a sci fi fan but in philosophy u are total retarded and u didnt understand the message of this movie. i recomend u "The little mermaid" " "The lion king" and "dumber and dumber" i salute you noob asshole(from Spain)
A movie can still be a good sci-fi film even though it may not have flashy gun fights with "bullet-time" and dudes jumping around all in black. This movie had a great plot and great art direction. A REAL sci-fi film fan would not ripp on this movie so harshly.
i agree with the guy below, this could have been one of the worst movies i have ever seen. Everyline those bald guys said was like the ultimate 1 liner, it was soooo stupid. And jack bowers acting was some of the worst ive ever seen. The special effects, and the set just added to the problem, overall i'd give it a half star, jenifer connelly was pretty, and the main acter wasn't bad, but that is it. one of the worst movies of the decade. Unreal how matrix next year could be soo much better

The Matrix had the more impressive visuals and the action heavy storyline.
Dark City had the mythology, the style, and the story; in addition to some impressive visuals and a more impressive cast.
In my opinion, Dark City wins out because it did in one movie what The Matrix tried to do in three. (And, of course, Kiefer Sutherland = Win.)
