This September, YouTube will launch its first journalism program. It's a contest for aspiring reporters to tell stories that often don't get reported by traditional media, and thus might not otherwise be told.
The first assignment in this contest is to create a video profile of someone you find compelling -- someone in your community you think the world should know about.
All videos must be three minutes or less, must be in English, and can only contain content created by you.
We wanted to give you a little bit of a heads-up now, in case you wanted to get an early start.
Stayed tuned for more details on the program, including prizing, how the entries will be judged, which will be announced in a few weeks.
