Freddie has said that how he dressed & acted on stage was not him. He was pretending.
Freddie was totally different off stage. He dressed very conservative, was very quiet & shy. IMO this is what made Freddie awesome & unique.
Example: Look at the ending of Live Aid 1985. Many rock singers were hogging the spotlight. A "look at me" type of thing. Where was Freddie? He was behind other rock singers being very quiet even though he was the one with the most talent.
