First of all, France has never colonized Lebanon! Secondly, the historical ties between France and Lebanon are centuries old! Thirdly, Paris deserves to be sing for and specially by someone like Fairouz! Thus, go read history in order to get rid of your ignorance! Or else, go to hell!

1- Lebanon's history dates 7000 years and as a proof Lebanon was mentioned 78 times in the bible!
2- When Lebanon was an emirate in the middle ages, Syria was an Ottoman province!
3- France had between 1920 and 1943 only a mandate over Lebanon and there is a world of difference between a mandate and a colony!!!
Tip: Keep away from distorted history books!

Exactly ! That's what I thought too. I don't understand the fascination of Lebanese people (us) with France or the French...Besides this comment I love Fairouz and her songs full of emotion, and innocence...Quality and class I can't find in modern Lebanese songs...
