Uh... 996 slower than E46? Says who? First off, E46 M3 1/4 mile performance is 13.2 sec, exactly the same as a stock 996 Mk I. Secondly, what do u know about my car? It's not a stock Carrera 2. Thirdly, top speed on an E46 M3 is Governed at 155. Carrera 2 is NOT governed and will do roughly 177 mph. So on a highway pull, u might keep up till 155 but after that ur done son. ;-)
I should have said 0-60 faster. I know 1/4 is the same, yes i dont know anything about your car, how would I? Im talking stock, and top speed comparison is just a waste of time. Not insulting anybody or anybodys car's here. Just stating the facts. According to C&D 2002 Porsche 911 Carrera 2 0-60 is 5.0 and 2002 M3 is 4.7. Not much of a difference.
Ok that's cool. But ya, my original point was from my experience I've driven E46 M3's before and they have similar performance to my 996 Carrera 2(obviously). But the F355 feels MUCH faster than both cars. Maybe the number's 0 to 60 don't show but the 1/4 mile time does (12.8 to the 1/4 on an F355). Just drive one and you'll see what I mean.
