well they only lasted a couple years cause Kurt committed suicide..... the reason people say their so great is cause they influenced a lot of other good bands. And they ruled the whole grunge scene.

I will for sure be chastised by this comment. I am in noway underated or taking anything from Nirvana - a truly great band. But, how can anyone say this is one of the best bands ever? They had a few hits that will last a lifetime, but thats it? They lasted a few years. When speaking about "grunge" yes, they are the faces of that genre but how can anyone say they are better than Pearl Jam, STP and Alice in Chains? Who all went on to produce more singles. I don't get it...

Actually it's unclear what he has died from other than the fact it was from a gun. Some say he was murdered. Some say he commited suicide. They couldn't tell because of the angle.
