This house was used in the original pilot series, but after a 6 week run, they changed the look of Southfork. The newer house was on the other side of the entrance. So was this "original" house actually the house that is at the "REAL" Southfork Ranch?
That is interesting. I didn't know the house from the initial episodes was actually near the house we all know for the run of the show. If you watch those first 6 episodes they we're clearly shot in the winter too. But from then on, the weather always was hot. I went on the tour and the family that lived at the ranch would only allow filming in the summer while they left for vacation. They'd do most all the southfork stuff for the whole season in like 12 weeks.
Wow downtown Dallas has grown a lot since this opening almost looks completely different now. Ha they even had a pic of the old Dallas Cowboy's stadium 0:26.
