Yes, but it's been anticipated for a long time. And when a game is released in Japan it usually takes about a year for it to be released in anywhere else. Also, some games stay only in Japan and we never get them.
True though that 1 yr wait for jp games is rare nowadays. With this game, the jpn ver has been out since Aug
Games used to take a year to be translated. I remember the old Square games takes 1 year to be translated, which was true with FF6-7.
With jp games releasing the eng ver near the same or before the jp release, only rare titles like Yazuka 3 and TVC takes a long time esp the company isn't sure if it will sale well. Since PW games are popular in US, they dont take as long as before
What disappoints me is that there's a ton of RPG's released in Japan that never see daylight anywhere else. Guess they are afraid of bad sales or smth.
Yes and for example Rondo of Swords and Luminous Arc for the DS have been released outside Japan, but when they didn't get that good of a reception (probably not very good sales either), they decided to keep the sequels Rondo 2 and LA 3 just exclusively in Japan.

For example, Square stopped localizing the Fullmetal games because they were doin poorly in here despite the vg titles are popular in Japan
