You're right! Well, sometimes Croatian historician refer to first Slavic tribes in Zeta and Duklja as Croats. We cannot really speak about nations at that time, although they were Catholic for a long time. Some Serbs say that these tribes were Catholic Serbs, some cannot admit that Serb nation has Catholic roots. It depends from a person to person.

Btw. Jesi ti Srbin? Mislim, da se okanemo ovog engleskog =)

@velosisak
Well,it can be said for the Serbs of kingdom of Zeta,and those settled on the Adriatic coast.While Serbs from Raska were always under the influence of Byzantium.

Actually, in first time, Serb nation wasn't really declared are they Roman or Byzantine, they had their mixture of both, but Saint Sava founded autokephal Church and chose Byzantine tradition, mainly because there are not national Churches in Romancatholic Church. Today, as it was long ago, Croats and Serbs make border of two denominations. Croats are almost completely Catholics, and Serbs Orthodox, with small protestant or atheistic minorities.
