Because in manga he had red hair ;) He has green hair just in anime. So originally his hair is red.

thank you, I din't know that...I read the manga but all the pictures are in black and white and I didn't remember the colors on the covers...it must be like Shun, whose original hair color is brown (this I remember). Thanks again!^^

me too, except for Shun...now I have checked the manga's covers, but there are no Gold Saints on them...maybe the covers are different from country to country, that's why I didn't know....
