This music is Mahler's sublime depiction of heaven. The singing as well is heavenly and yes, the oboist too is stunning. A great performance! "Music really does make the world a better place."

The very best performance of the Last Four Songs of Strauss is by Gundla Janowitz with Herbert Von Karjan and the Berlin Philharomonric. A legendary performance and one of the finest recordings ever made.
