no there are no silent letters in greek...its pronounced "Fthinoporo" Φθινοπωρο... i heard the φ very clearly...its just a combination of 2 consonants (φθ) and the second one is the one you mostly hear when you talk quickly..
If you are learning Greek from a textbook by yourself, then these lessons are very helpful because they are spoken clearly, quickly and naturally, so they help to verify your pronunciation of the individual letters as well as gaining familiarity with the intonation of spoken Greek.
I really like your lessons, but please please please slow down, and actually next time could you actually say the phrase after each phrase appears? It's not hard to pause, but it's hard to remember if we said the phrase right the first time around.
I think you should have read the phrases a little bit slower. I've understood all the pronounciation rules but I'm having a hard time following you. Don't forget we are not natives. ;)
