Spurs fans won't like this, lol, but I assure you I am not a Duncan hater, in fact....he's the 2nd best player in the league after Kobe,IMO. He's only #2, not #1 becuase I think Kobe is way more talented, a better shooter and IMO if Kobe had Ginobli, Tony Parker,Bowen and Finley he would do better. But that takes nothing from TD who has been a class act, consistent winner since day 1. Nonetheless this video is more of a marvel than a shot a TD, simply because none else other than Shaq, has been able to take it to Tim like 6'6 Kobe.

This video has an ugly name if you're a Duncan or Spurs fan but trust me, I know that Tim is not Kobe's property (my Laker friends suggest otherwise) and also a noticeable missing dunk from this video is Kobe's dunk on Tim in San Antonio from this past season........that dunk is #1 on my Kobe's Top 5 dunks on Duncan mix but I don't have it anymore and the more I look at it, I realize it isn't as impressive as any other Kobe dunks on him...Kobe stretched and used length on it....pretty good nonetheless. Anyway for your amusement, here it is.

Kobe should have 3--4 league MVPs. He got robbed by Nash cuz he was playing on a shitty team for 4 straight years.

I never said Tim isn't in the same category. Tim is one of the greatest players of all time, and probably the best C/PF of all time as well. I just wouldn't put him over Kobe. I don't get why people even compare the 2. Because they're completely different. Tim is a big man, Kobe's a SG. If you wanna compare, compare Tim to Shaq. Kobe to D-Wade.

how does that help support your argument that tim duncan isn't in the same category as kobe? i'm well aware that both players play/played in extremely good organizations that surrounded them with talent and a great coach.

Also, Tim has had Tony Parker and Manu for how long of his career? Kobe had Shaq, and then Shaq left and he had no one, then he had Pau. You could say Kobe had Phil Jackson, but Tim had Popovich, who's also a great coach.

Yeah, but that's what he does. Tim's job is to dominate the pain offensively and defensively. Kobe is and always has been more of a scorer. But he always takes on the challenge of defending the other team's "best" player. Yeah, but Spurs haven't been to the finals in 6 years, not including this one. Kobe's taken Lakers to the finals 7 times, 3 without Shaq. Tim also has never taken Spurs to the finals consecutive years. And yes, Tim is in the category of Kobe in greatness, just not over him.

duncan is a better defender for more reasons than just being bigger, but either way, the point stands, he's still a way better defender since his size allows him to impact the game more. and in terms of pure greatness, duncan is in the same category as kobe. he's lead his team to 4 championships.

Tim is only a better defender because he's a PF, he's bigger and stronger than Kobe. If Kobe was as tall/strong as Tim, he would be a better PF. Either way though, comparing Tim and Kobe is retarded because Kobe's a SG and Tim is a PF/C. That's like comparing Chris Paul to D-12. One's a PG and others a Center. Illogical. In terms of pure greatness though Kobe > Tim. Tim is great but not as gr8 as KB.

Kobe's will/fire/assassin mentality puts him above and beyond anyone else in NBA. Greatness.

Lol wut. Inside players are the last line of defense, so if your perimeter defenders suck, then the pf and centers are there to help. Positions doesnt automatically makes them better at defense or at any certain things...
