single bomb; but Japan's attack was aimed towards the United States' closest military/marine resource to Japan, and it was thought to be a threat. Of course, the innocence of the unsuspecting American soldiers can never be over-stated, but Hiroshima was a center of business and 150,000 innocent, non-military related people were murdered.

Compared to the death toll of J invasion of China (ten to fifteen MILLION, and another five million from Japanese caused famines throughout Asia), death toll from H&N-200k- was *trivial*.
What better choice did Truman have?
Compromise peace? Militarists retain power plan Pacific War 2
Invade? Kyushu's garrison was x7 Okinawa's. Look up the casualties & do the math.
Blockade? MILLIONS of J civilians (& 100,000 Allied POWs) wouldve starved to death b4 hirohito gave the surrender order
