It's certainly possible that you will damage the wires from wrapping them tightly (btw watch her, she doesn't wrap them particularly tightly, just snug), but imo the chance of that damaging the wires is much less than the chance of them being loose and my cat chewing them or them snagging, or any of a number of worse things that could happen with them loose.

Not too shabby. I like to keep mine in a little plastic winding case though. Keeps them clean and safe.
