From the 2000 production-Judas Death. This excerpt is from my friend Aspenas:"from the beginning, Judas warns Jesus about what he is doing as if he was trying to open Jesus' eyes to what's likely to come. Also, he "sings" that he did what Jesus wanted him to do. That is definitely something clear even in the Bible. It was all planned".His resolution is surprising. This is sure to stir some responses.

I preferd the 1973 version, and Carl Anderson was the best Judas there has ever been. I also think that Annas is a bit over the top not as devious and manipulating as he is in the original.
Given the grief & anguish which Judas is meant to feel at this point, I believe a note-perfect rendition would seem utterly fake. So I'm glad he doesn't sing the end part so well. In fact, I'm pretty sure its similar in the 1970's version.
if anyone who has commented on ANY of the jesus christ superstar vids can sing anything like the 70's edition or the 2000 edition then please by all means post your own rendition and let us rip you to shreds! no one has a right to say these men and women did not put on a good performance or that they cant sing or act as all who have turned into critics probably cant even sing their own names. so please give they guys their due they have reinforced the greatest story ever told, just accept it.
The transitions for this version of the song is terrible. The '73 transitions are sooo much smoother. Not to mention this guys voice is a complete insult to Carl Anderson.
