Facilitated diffusion uses carrier proteins that makes diffusion easier and quicker, that is why it is called FACILitated diffusion. Diffusion is a completely passive event. This is active transport since protein is using energy to transfer molecules from low to high concentration. Diffusion and facilited diffusion transfer from high to low which doesn't require energy.
