A full-length ride on the experimental Magnetbahn track in Berlin which ran from Gleisdreieck U-Bahn station to the Potsdamer Platz area. It remained in place for a few years (it can be glimpsed in Wenders' film "Wings of Desire") and after the Wall went down it was moved to China(?)
The track covered three stops: Gleisdreieck, Bernburger Str., and Kemperplatz. In the clip we can see the track initially parallel the then-unused U-Bahn Line 2 (cut off by the Wall) and eventually approach the just-opened Potsdamer Platz checkpoint - a line of cars is visible driving through the no man's land.

The original concept was to convert all small profile U-Bahn sections in West Berlin - about half the network - to an M-Bahn. Good thing it didn't happen because that plan would have broken compatibility with the East Berlin U-Bahn system thus preventing reconnection of severed lines.
I guess it was in the way of redeveloping the area. It was a test track, I think. They had pre-addressed postcards available for the riders to send comments. I think I still have mine somewhere, perhaps I should mail it finally :-)
It was a ttest track as JanPB said. Part of it was on an elevated U-Bahn track which was out of service during the division because it connected an East Berlin and West Berlin station. When the wall came down, it had to go because the original U-Bahn connection was re-established.
