Looks like a double or triple 0 martin guitar.. They are often used for finger picking.

isn't experimental music(say rock\metal) supposed to try playing the genre with all sorts of weird, unconventional instruments rather than unconventional structure\ composition?
cause the latter is more like progressive music.
