This pedal is highly amp sensitive. Through an AC30 it sounds great. Through a Fender,not very nice. Too much fizz and top end. You need to try it through your amp before buying.

I think Hot Cakes sound much better through lower wattage amps that react to it on the front end. It sounds like heaven through my 50 watt Sovtek or an AC30, but I don't use it with a 4x10 blues Deville or a Twin... I think it sounds "artificial" because of what it's designed to do and they have too much "headroom" before they naturally break up.
