actually it was decided before the match that a tape recording would be used

i think that it might have been cut and glued before hand so that it bleed when the glue got hit off, cause they sometimes do that to allow bleeding in a match, and the gash seems to be too big for a blade job.

its prerecorded on the documentary beyond the matt they show the whole thing being worked out before hand, like having mick look over at jerry when he was getting in position to have the i quit recording played and everything, was part of a storyline.

actually in the beyond the mat thing that your refering to it shows that they were planing out the recording in advance and telling mankind how to give the signal to lawler to tell them to play the recording, it was all part of the storyline
