not true. beatles went from playing a few chorded poppy crap songs to starting the psychedelic revolution in the 60's within a couple of years. thats progression. radiohead has been on the scene for more than 15 years. beatles had about 6 or 7 years only and they accomplished a countless number of things. I wouldn't put radiohead above beatles as a band. They were better instrumentally I agree, but the beatles were more experimental for their time. listen to tomorrow never knows made in 66'

Hard to believe that they were influenced by REM who are a very average, middle of the road, formulaic band. Radiohead's compositions are brilliant, edgy and original. REM is verse, chorus, verse, chorus yada yada

Yes, you underestimate REM and also, do some research - Thom Yorke and Michael Stipe have long since had a mutual admiration society going on and have even performed together.

Yes people, I think we can all agree that Radiohead are a remarkable band, but in turn they were also influenced by bands which went before them...
ie: alternative and electronic acts of the 80s like The Cure, the Human League, plus REM, who Yorke readily admits was a HUGE influence. I don't know about Floyd, but I for one can see some similarities (a focus on technology/electronic instrumentation, a "spacey" futuristic vibe, as well as the oft dark subject matter).

Thom Yorke is believed to be the most influenced by Pink Floyd actually. And growing up, when he got his guitar, he was influenced by Brian May of Queen.

i don't think the music is live in this video, they've just dubbed over it with the studio version. still cool video though!

@joeriroose Muse and Radiohead are both completely different acts who bring energy, talent, creativity and diversity to what they do. Don't say one sucks; they do not have the same impact because they are two distinctively different bands, but they are both excellent examples of rock in the UK.
