This is classic F1. Just watch it: Hakkinen vs Schumacher, McLaren vs Ferrari, Bridgestone vs Good Year... And the old TAG Heuer timing! :D

I miss those years.

Classic year of F1, I remember it like it was yesterday even though it was 11 years ago!

Hakkinen didn't have true competition in 1999. Schumacher broke his leg, and Irvine only got half a season as the #1 driver. I remember watching this race aged 9, his quote of "at the end of the day... I don't care" I'll never forget, same as the heartbreak when his tyre blew. Amazing fightback and so unlucky.

Great Hakkinnen, but also great Schumacher in this race. He had the pole but had to start from the back of the grid, as his car stalled. Then he fought back to 3rd, when his tyre exploded. It is only Schumacher who was able to roll up the whole field so many times.

A demon drive by Schumacher until that unfortunate retirement.; Hakkinen deserved the title that year though after years of hard work and ill-luck.

What a great moment to see Mika weeping off his tears after crossing the race line...

PS. Although I am a huge Ferrari fan, I can't but agree that Mika was a super driver...
