Andy Roddick def. Roger Federer 2008 Miami

Roddick finally beats Federer. Andy Roddick: "Well, I'm not going to sit here and say that I've fixed all the problems against Roger. I'm still batting 2-for-16. That's still pretty crappy. But it...

i think his time to win a gnother grand slam is soon based on wimbleton. He was more desrving than fed to win in my opinion. But if he keeps at it he wil win

All I think about regarding this match was how Roddick followed this up by losing to Davydenko in the very next round; a guy he was 5-0 against at the time!

Roddick sure played excellent in the Wimby final. He could have had it if he kept it together in the 2nd set. His couch has done excellent, but needs to work on Andy's mental game, definitely.

he's always mentally strong now. if he wasnt he would not have made it 7-6, 3-6, 14-16 after what everyone calls a choke in the 2nd set. he made it despairingly close. that showed how mentally tough he is

Good point. Yeah, after that 2nd set it must have been hard to get it together. But you could really tell during some points throughout that match that he cracked under pressure...you don't really see any of that from Federer .. . so there's a difference.

I agree, but I think he has trouble when he's close to winning. It's almost like he doesn't believe he can beat Federer. He's a master of staying in a match after defeat, and when it looks like he's not doing well, but when he's a couple shots away from winning, (against Federer, at least) he can't hold it together.

That being said, I'm a huge Roddick fan.
