This piece gives me goosebumps. Such a masterpiece! Mozart is one and only...

This is the best version in my opinion. Slower than others, and, probably thanks to that, absolutely majestic and striking (remember, it's a Rex Tremendae Majestatis deciding the fate of the universe ). The second part is beautiful as well: the prayer ("salva me, fons pietatis!" ) is almost whispered, merely an impotent pleading to a Judge whose decision is inquestionable. Atheists, Catholics, everyone, admire how human mind, godly inspired or not, can create such beauty.

In my opinion, the best version is directed by Karl Böhm. A bit slower than this, but much more greater.

For this particular piece i prefer a faster tempo but you're right.

I'd wish Mozart hadn't died so young...

Mozart is a miracle!! Just look at the fact that he produced 626 known works (first one at the age of 8!!!) under a life time of 35 years. At seven years he could play any piece whatsoever from the notesheet. Amadeus means "loved by God". He was indeed, cos his music is divine and salvation. "Mozart is the Christ of music" - Pjotr Tjajkovskij

Nothing can truly describe this overwhelming masterpiece! Feels like a floating wave of emotion that gently overwhelms you with its tremendous energy. Wonderfull! And with that certain taste of dramatic tragedy that follows Mozarts Requiem. He realy must have had an amazing mind that he partialy tried to unlock with his music.
