you eff- killing the driver is half the point. Keep the KISS principle in mind. These are cheap and easy to set up but a "deformable structure" would no doubt be more expensive to build and maintain and more prone to failure.

Who knows? It might be a family with children and the driver had a heart attack when that bollard was in his way.
