I just keep coming back to this, my favorite video on You Tube! Say hello to Mary again for me :)

The only thing "old" about this, when you think about it, is the fashions, thats all, fashions & technology change quickly- especially the fashions from before the war. Even in 1948, the fashions from 1938 looked 100 years old

But thats the "simpler time" that everyone is so nostalgic about, the time before ww 2. such a wonderfull time it was, if you lucky enough to be white, hetrosexual, wealthy, conservative, male- it was a simple, trouble free time. Just like they always said life was in the pre civil war south also

Lovely video. It shows a world that has, unfortunately, gone forever. Mind you they were obviously fairly well off. Great swathes of England did not live as comfortably as this.

Just wanted to say I still love watching this, and want to see more. I also want to see what Mary looks like now! It is just so neat to see the distant past come alive in these old movies!

This is fascinating... it shows how much the world has and hasn't changed in 80 years.
