Don't watch the anime v_v They totally fail at delivering the emotion. Either just watch the movie or read the manga.

I'll think I'll give this a go. Saikano had a great premise, and I really had high hopes for the anime, but I was let down by the ridiculous amount of pointless emotional exploitation.

The translation is way off...the "You're alive!" part ("Ikite itai no; suki na hito ga iru no") should really be "I want to live! There is a person I love".
