Yes, maybe you got a part of the reason I like too Pete Doherty, and is true that he can't be compared whit any other musician. My commentary was not to discredit Pete, only was to say that this song reminds me another song.
I'm a huge fan of Pete Doherty, so my view is somewhat biased, but I can see where you're coming from insofar as the lead guitar does sound similar to Brown Eyed Girl.
However the song as a whole bears little resemblence (excluding the lead guitar part I've already mentioned). I'm trying to find a better comparison, but as with most of Pete Doherty's stuff, its quite hard to compare to some other artist. In my opinion, he seems to have his own 'sound'.
Pete is amazing (L) People just don't realise this 'cause they're blinded by the drugs he takes, well they're missing out. He's an amazing lyricist and musician :)
LOL. ive heard some comparisons of Pete's music this week..'There She Goes' sounding like 'Lovecats'. 'Time for Heroes' sounding like 'Boys Dont Cry' but this sounding like 'Heartbeat' theme tune just doesnt make the cut. good for a laugh though!
well, you exugurate.. yeah, you are right about "there she goes" it does sounds like lovecats but just at the begining. time for hearoes sounded just a bit like boys dont cry. he IS good musician.. but w/e

I like Pete Doherty and all his music(especially in The Libertines), but this song is a copy.
