That's the stupidest fucking question I've ever heard, LOL. If you think the person who uploads it might be linking to viruses, it's obvious he's going to lie to you "Nope" to lower your attention.
The best you can do is get a good protection software such as Kaspersky and keep it on while you download the file. For me, Kaspersky Online Security 2009 usually manages to find any trojans or viruses before the file download is even finished.
