I've had to take back two archos 5 30GB mutli-media players due to the same technical problem so can anyone confirm this player is at least reliable after 2 months?? i don't wanna have to refund another £275 player again! be honest, thanks!
I have to say, I find that really odd. I've never heard of a complaint about the Q5 in comparison to a Walkman, or even a Zune. Have you taken time to adjust the EQ to suit the headphones that you are using? Still, we've never had a complaint about the 'flat' EQ sound, straight out the box - odd.
Yeah I find that strange as well as Cowon was known for their superior sound quality. And I've compared it to different kinds of players(including the Nokia N95 8GB, Sony Walkman A-808, Microsoft Zune 80 ), all with flat EQs and somehow the Q5 is inferior.
I've got my Cowon Q5w for a week now and I must say, it's not THAT good. The one and only problem, which is also the most important one, is the audio quality. It's not really good ( when compared to many other players on the market for example, the Microsoft Zune or the Sony Walkman ). It sounds as if the sound's been masked by some sort of .... I don't know what it just sounds strange and terrible.

Are you using a headphone amp? You may need one to take full advantage of those high-end IEMs.
