Isle of Wight - In The Past (Part 1)

Wonderful pictures. Thank you so much. They brought back so many happy memories of family holidays on the Island in the 30's. And the August weather was always gorgeous!

These time can never be found for the youth of my time. Sadly I will have to grow up in a vile era. Wish I could have lived during this time for me it was more precious then gold itself. Such a beautiful memory to have been collected.

I think this is a lovely film, and I do love the Isle. But In the words of my Father, born in 1927 "There are always problems, there was no golden age, it's an illusion."

Well then if not "gold"en age, Then I'll settle for second. The Silver lol.

I live on the island and i Love it. I have lived here my whole life and cant imagine living anywhere else but here. Driving over the downs always makes me feel happy, the sun, stretching fields and meadows its just perfect! but what i love is our own little language we speak, for instance "Your a gurt mallishag nipper" lol!

An amazing place, i visit every year and feel like i have gone home and home sick when i leave. I pray one day i will be able to return and stay forever. Perhaps in a previous life i came from this beautiful island. Cant wait for the next visit.

I too live on the big island but feel the same Birdiebin14 and visit as often as possible. How can I be homesick for somewhere I have never lived?

You are not sad. there is a very special energy here that you can feel in your soul.. It calls me when I go away and lifts my soul when I return.. it's a truly magical place.. come and live here!
