Covering a song is always a daunting task. Many a time, a metalcore band oversimplifies the composition and piles pinch harmonics and distortion on a beloved heavy metal classic, with disastrous results. Other times, a progressive metal band will over-play one.

And sometimes, someone does something completely diferent. like this.

All.... this is the US of A. Clearly, Pat Boone pursued and obtained the legal authority to cover these songs. This could not have happened without the knowledge and consent (and licensing fees) of the original artists. This was a surprise to nobody, but the listener. The poor, poor listener!
