As Egypt struggles to set up a new political system, a new body has assumed law making powers.

The upper house of parliament, the shura council, has taken over from President Morsi, until Egypt's next elections in February.

Al Jazeera's Rawya Rageh reports from Cairo.

Why are the BBC and CNN, western controlled television stations so in favor of Morsi?

Morsi might have to do the same thing that his proceeders did which is to take a full power then get rid of the Muslim brotherhood and put them back in jail... or face another revolution!!!

Morsi is still the Pharaoh. Didn't the Brotherhood promise not to run a candidate? Wake up, it is lies and deception, which is common in the Middle East. But think of this! The Religion of Islam encourages lies and deception, right? Do these people who stole power still call themselves Muslims? For sure! So Islam is not a religion of truth, but lies and deception. All the Arab springs are the same. More radical ancient pagan religion and laws. Wake up Muslims. This is Satan, not God.
