Quite possibly the earliest form of rap??? Also remember Rudy Ray Moore's style like "The Signifying Monkey" and even the early stuff from BlowFly which had a lot of cussing on it even before today's rappers.
"Quite possibly the earliest form of rap???" It goes back for decades before this. An example from about 1960 is "Jaguar And Thunderbird" by Chuck Berry. Examples from the late '40s are on the Night Train CD by the Basin Street Boys.
