This was the beginning of the end for them. You shouldn't have to bring in a funny janitor for comic relief from the friggin' MARX BROTHERS.

This movie is also interesting as a display of the interior of a 1940's department store. Almost like an inadvertant history lesson. :)

Now this is what I call "real movies!" This stuff could actually make people laugh without showing a whole bunch of filth like todays society. This movie is simply the best! Gotta love the Marx brothers!

Glad this chase scene didn't end of the Marx Brothers' career in films. "The Big Store" was to be their last picture, but "A Night in Casablanca" and "Love Happy" followed.

This is only mildly entertaining. The use of stunt doubles is obvious, and how often can you laugh at the bad guys bumping into each other?

The end: Grover burns the picture, but when photographers try to take his photo as he assumes control over the store and he knows there's a gun hidden in a camera, the jig is up!
