Carpenters - Calling Occupants Of Interplanetary Craft

A haunting, rather overlooked (and underappreciated) slice of musical "magic" from the magnificent talent of the late Karen Carpenter. Over 26 years since her passing, and I STILL haven't heard a voice that quite reminds me of Karens. I say that with no disrespect to all the great female vocalists of this generation. It's simply that Karens' voice reminds me of a bottle of exquisitely fine wine; a treasure to be truly savored as it's value increases with time. I'll cherish her memory forever.

Certainly a weak version. Karen pulls it off...that's what saves it. Richard's arraingement really doesn't lift it to the heights of Harry Georgeson's (or was that George Harrison). I don't think anyone else could have pulled this song off but KC

Forgot about this song till the other day, we were short staffed at work , trying to call someone , anyone in to help, between running to calls , getting together  discussing what we were going to do.
My coworker says "calling occupants"... We haven't stopped laughing since, thinking of this song. Yeah karen carpenters voice was great , but while the song was very popular back in the 70s , well i guess being in the 70's says it all.... its is totally brutally campy LOL..

Wonder whose voices they used for the aliens? RC or KC or other band members? Great performance. Thanks for posting.
