Yes, for things like that it's true, cats also chase light reflections etc.

But what I meant is that they can't understand the content of what's going on on TV and what people are doing there in the scenes. They also never imitate human behavior in real life as well.

Ahh not always true. When I play my wii my cat can see the cursor or on my computer he can clearly see it and he tries to get it.

There is someone obviously playing with the cat with a thread that is thin enough that you can't see it and/or it's outside of the frame.

Cats usually do not react to TV much because it seems they can't decode and interprete 2D screen scenes very well.
