http://www.euronews.com/ NATO has confirmed that a US police adviser has been shot dead by an Afghan policewoman in the Kabul compound of the chief of police.
The death is the latest "insider attack" in which
Afghan forces turn their weapons on Western troops they are supposed to be working with.
At least 52 NATO soldiers have been killed this year in similar incidents.
But this appears to be the first time a female officer has turned her weapon on a member of the international coalition.
The shootings have undermined the training of Afghan troops and impeded the smooth handover of security operations ahead of the pullout by most NATO combat troops in 2014.
