These clouds seemed to be glowing or somewhat luminous and seemed to resemble some characteristics of the Auroras. I am not sure exactly what they were or whether they indeed had anything to do with the quake. I am no expert anyways. See if any scientists are willing to give a full explanation.
If such phenomenon can be proved for its connection with earthquake occurrences, maybe they could be used as warning signs and would be life saving. If not, just learn these clouds as yet another rare atmospheric phenomenon and no need to panic when seeing them.
After all, this might well be just a rare atmospheric phenomenon occurred by coincidence. Though, just wondering if there's any possibility the formation of such rare clouds be catalyzed by any event??

To happen 30 min before a major earthquake. That would be like if u saw someone standing by your car with a baseball bat then 30 min later u saw your windows smashed in for no reason. Nope can't possibly be that person.
This is more like someone was standing about 300 miles (about 500km) from your car with a bat (or maybe not a bat, just a cloud), and then 30 minutes later you saw your car windows smashed in. Why in hell would you blame it on someone standing 300 miles away? ? The person who put up this YouTube clearly states the clouds were 500 km away from the quake. Please read what they say.

Please, it's a perfectly average meteorological phenomena, not the second bloody coming, or a tectonic warning.
No connection at all, except both the bird and the rain that wet your car are naturally occuring phenomena.
Just like the earthquake was, and this circumhorizontal arc is.
Can you explain why the colors are perfectly ordered with red above yellow, above green, above blue? Because I can.
