I'm pretty sure this is from the Woodstock, Anaheim/LA, CA, July 1, 1983, but I've seen all kinds of contradicting information about the date and club, so I won't say that's definite. Audio bootlegs of this show are sometimes referred to as "Eternal Damnation." This is probably the most famous live version of "Aggressive Perfector" due to Tom's killer intro and the Hanneman/King guitar dueling at the end.
Before you tell me "Oh, I think I know this gig," I have the rest of gig and for sure it is:
- NOT the same show as any '83 footage from the Sountrack to the Apocalypse DVD. - NOT the gig where they played a lot of earlier NWOBHM-inspired numbers which were never recorded in the studio.
If anyone happens to remember a site with great info about Slayer's early California shows, please let me know. As far as I remember it was a text only page on a tan-colored background, and not a Slayer site, but a page off of some guy's video trading list or something. It gave the most extensive info on their 1983 shows I've ever seen, but I can't find it anymore!

a crossover kid is a hardcore punk/thrasher. like the worlds biggest crossover band is DRI, like slayers #1 influence. im a crossover kid if i were to label myself... cryptic slaughter, excel, suicidal tendencies, d.r.i. those are true grossover.. thats crossover. hiphop and metal, thats just gay. but ether way, thanks for uploading this video.
Yeah, that's exactly who I'm talking about though. I'll be honest, Wehrmacht is a fun guilty pleasure for me and I can remember more S.O.D. songs than I care to admit, but with the possible exception of the Cryptic Slaughter demo, I would much rather listen to "I'm the Man" over anything you listed. Mainly because Indians in blue track suits rule supreme over Venice Beach, skatepunks, and recycled HC riffs. Thanks for checking out the vid though.
Alright I have something to state. Pantera is sick. I'm a huge slayer fan, first concert I went to was a slayer show. I have to tell you Pantera isn't a band to disrespect. Kerry King was a huge Pantera fan, he was great friends with Dimebag. So, if you respect Slayer you shouldn't hate Pantera. Hate some band worth hating like Slipknot. But I do agree with the Grindcore part.
I haven't respected Slayer for over 2 decades, so I'll keep right on disrespecting Pantera and their fans, thanks. By the way, I find this "liking band x because they are friends with other band y" concept laughable. People who treat music like a social clique always run to trends. Doesn't Lombardo like Slipknot? Have you read any interviews with Araya and seen the variety of stuff he likes? Do YOU force yourself to like and respect all of those groups?
