Before it was a movie, Hellzapoppin was a theatrical play on Broadway. Yes, starring Olsen and Johnson. And all the craziness you see here on screen, was also occuring on stage. For example, they would have an usher going up and down the aisle, carrying a plant, calling for a Mr. Jones. Each and everytime the plant would be bigger than the last. At the end of the play, as the audience filed out of the theater, in the lobby would be a tree, with the guy sitting on a branch, calling for Mr Jones
