despite Dvorak's efforts to make an abstract symphony to set a difference from the previous ones, nevertheless some czech airs and melodies are heard in this 3rd movement scherzo, although in the other 3 he accomplished his objective in a great proportion

exquisite piece of music (the entire symphony) - and to think that its composer described himself as a simple country musician

I listened this live from Istanbul Symphonic Orchestra yesterday, and I found this post on youtube as soon as I reach home. Really great, never boring, I love it more as I listen again and again...

I'm actually able to play this piece and I think it was interpreted a bit too fast..
They made a few errors cause of that.

(By the way, sorry for my englaish, I'm french ;) )

Definitely this is my favorite symphony. For me there is none in the world compare to it.

That was OK, but the conductor seemed bored, and that can make or break a piece. I'm no conducting expert, but I don't think the conductor can just slack off until the end of the movement (unless, of course, Dvorak intended for the music to have that kind of unimpressive, slacking off character, which I doubt).

I don't what the hell you're talking about, but it wasn't boring at all.
