Leah Lane, the protester who was brutally treated by police as she was passively protesting the war in Iraq and police actions during the Republican National Convention, was interviewed by Fox News in the Twin Cities.
Fox News, unfair and unbalanced, had had reporters gassed, verbally abused, and arrested during the RNC and grew some stones. This interview is what happens when a local news team attached to a media monolith finds themselves "on the wrong side" while trying to report on a big story in their hometown.
Leah is a hero. She stood up to the completely excessive and utterly unnecessary police presence in the most peaceful way possible. And got fucking hosed for it.
They gave her a traffic offense. She gave them back love. It's an awesome story. Here's the background.

idc what u say, our law enforcement is a load of shit! if ur famous and rich u can get away with a slap on ur hand. if ur a protester not breakin the law, they beat your ass. thats fucked up!
Stop the wars, stop the torture, stop the destruction, stop the brutality. And Creeno, if you only knew the power of the love that I felt on the street yesterday. All these people, standing up for their rights, going to jail just so they can be considered normal human beings, and all of them thanking me profusely for standing with them even though I wasn't one of them., well maybe then you'd understand what love really is.
It was my honor to stand with them, and it was my honor to be arrested by peacekeeping officers that actually live up to that title. You Creeno, and the police that beat Leah, and the police that went crazy at the RNC, have a lot to learn about humanity. May all of you one day do so, if not for our sake, then for your own. And now, I'm officially done here, since you've finally been given the boot Creeno. Walk well, my ignorant friend. Try and find how to love again.
